Kestra Medical Technologies

Sleep study with a wearable defibrillatorASSURE WCD System was recognized as the winner of the Bronze in the Cardiovascular Devices category, 2022 Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA).
As the sole human factors engineer for the product, responsible for user research, persona creation, usability engineering deliverables, task/hazard analysis, usability testing for wearable cardioverter defibrillators. Complete documentation in compliance with the FDA Human Factors Guidance and 62366- 1/2.

Sonosite Ultrasound Systems

Designed, administered and evaluated user interface, summative and reprocessing validation studies necessary for FDA submission, act as liaison to evangelize research needs to product teams, partner with design and engineering to provide HF support for multiple projects running in parallel. Complete all documentation necessary throughout the product lifecycle, support regulatory reviews of auditable materials.

Microsoft – Web Portal and Bing Apps

Research on Microsoft products

Completed user interface and benchmarking studies for Bing apps on the Surface and Windows phone. Conducted competitive analyses of international websites for the MSN Web portal. Creation of user profiles and core user scenarios for each vertical. Presentation of results to cross functional teams.

Cerner – Electronic Health Applications

In order to qualify for Meaningful Use reimbursement as defined by NIST, medical applications must have documented usability during the development process. Cognitive walk-through, RITE, Formative and Summative testing performed in-person and remotely for iPad, iPhone and desktop for the PowerChart Touch Ambulatory and FetaLink iPad applications. Information was collated and analyzed into report and presentation format for distribution across the company. Educational materials to promote Usability across the organization created and presented to further the goal of a company-wide Usability Initiative.

Spacelabs – Telemetry Systems

Generative, Formative, Summative and Consumer satisfaction testing performed on hand-held and stationary telemetry units throughout the product lifecycle to evaluate safety and efficacy. Designed, administered and evaluated user interface studies with beta equipment for the Aria Tele, created paper prototypes, and performed functional analysis. Compiled Usability reports for the Design History File.
